Bel Kaufman Next Speaker At Jewish Literature Live!

On Tuesday & Wednesday April 24 & 25 esteemed author and professor Bel Kaufman, author of “Up the Down Staircase,” will be the guest speaker for the 2012 Jewish Literature Live! at George Washington University.  The event is part of the Sholem Aleichem Festival and will be held at the MC Amphitheater (April 24th), MPA Room B07 (April 25th). Both events begin at 7pm.

Jewish Literature Live! is a unique college course taught by English Professor Faye Moskowitz at George Washington University.

The annual class allows students to read the works of a series of living Jewish authors, and then have the opportunity to interact with them in an intimate, engaging, collegiate setting. The course, the only one of its kind in the country, is also accompanied by public lectures or readings by established and emerging authors.

David Bruce Smith, a graduate and trustee of George Washington University, established the course in 2009. All of our events are FREE and open to the public.
