The children’s book, American Hero: John Marshall, Chief Justice of the United States, authored by David Bruce Smith, and illustrated by Clarice Smith, was released in the spring of 2013. It became an instant must-have at museums and historical sites that support the legacy of the nation’s Founding Fathers.
Teachers soon learned that “Marshall” helped them teach American History with inspiration. Several classrooms read the book and then followed up with lively classroom discussion so their students would retain their new knowledge. One school even incorporated it into their curriculum before a visit to George Washington’s Mt. Vernon.
In the summer of 2013 American Hero became Amazon‘s #1 book, in the biographical category.
Hopefully, more schools across this great nation will realize how instructive this book is for teaching children about great American figures.
