Stan Salett: History In The Making

The Edge of Politics by Stan SalettIn the Spring of 2012, The Chestertown Spy asked me to review Stan Salett’s “The Edge of Politics: Stories from the Civil Rights Movement, the War on Poverty and the Challenges of School Reform.”

In this insightful memoir, the reader “follows” Salett from his Boston childhood, to his days as a Civil Rights advocate helping to organize the March on Washington, through his significant contributions to the education system.

On April 11, the New England Educational Opportunity Association awarded Salett with the Association’s highest honors, the 2013 Claiborne Pell Award.

Montgomery College Television interviewed Salett about his incredibly accomplished life story. It premiered on MCTV on April 14, 2013.
